Here comes the main season of the year, probably the busiest of all months. We have a week full of guest house reservations 😱 and it's almost our 1-year anniversary. It’s crazy how time flies, but this one year has felt like three, with so much experience. Anyway, we’re looking forward to seeing some of you as customers starting tomorrow!

Continuing from the last blog, I’ll catch up to date. Since July 7th, we’ve been battling caterpillars and bugs. We’ve been growing basil, mint, sage, and other herbs, but caterpillars have been devouring all our plants. Baabaa and I decided to use our Asian skills and remove the caterpillars with chopsticks, and we covered the plants. However, it seems there were eggs in the dirt, so they kept coming back. After a few days of this battle, we decided to take the loss on basil and ooba leaf. On the bright side, the sage and mint have recovered and are growing healthy, so we’ll take that as a w!

Couple days later Laras and I had a day off so we decided to take the local bus to Sumoto. It was scorching hot and I've known from past experience but should've never trusted google maps. We were planning to walk about 20min to Shizuki bus station but since it was too hot we took a bus from near Emo base to shizuki and once we got there the bus didnt come for 10min and asked the local student that was waiting when the next bus was and she said we had to wait another 50min.... so we deiced to go chill at Mcdonald. Hopefully there will be more bus time in near future. From Shizuki about half an hour ride to Sumoto we got off at Eon and walked around the shopping street. Decided to coffee hop from one to another and walked to the Ohama beach. When we went there weren't any people at all so it was a peaceful walk but since it was so hot we just decided to chill at a hotel lobby for bit. Later on since we missed the last local bus straight to Shizuki we decided to eat dinner at Sumoto and rode the taxi back. I swear Awaji need to up their game on public transportation fr
