Trip to Kyushu
This week, Ill be going back to the end of October. Laras and I took a trip to Nagasaki to visit my parents, as well as my grandma and auntie. I was able to visit my auntie, who has been fighting cancer for a long time now and has been going in and out of the hospital. She seemed really strong, though, and we were able to have a quick conversation, as the hospital is very strict with visits.
From there, we went to visit the welfare facility where my grandma is staying. It’s been about two years since I last saw her, and it seems like she’s starting to lose her memory, which is really sad. However, she did remember me as the guy who does photography. It took a while for her to recognize me maybe it was my face or something but at least I was able to have a short conversation with her and see her face.
Afterward, since Glover Garden was nearby my grandma’s facility, Laras, my mom, and I went exploring there. It’s a unique place with a mix of Western-style buildings covered with traditional Japanese roof tiles. We then had lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant, which I didn’t quite enjoy, but I think it was a good experience for Laras. The one thing I don’t like is that they serve the rice at the end, after I’m already full. I’d rather have it served with the sashimi!
Day later we went to Inasa, observation deck on top of the mountain and apparently its ranked as one of the best three night views in Japan. Well before we went it started raining like crazy so we decided to chill at nearby football stadium that recently opened. I've been going to Nagasaki every winter since a kid and finally I'm seeing little changes like Nagasaki station but overall everything else was still pretty much the same. Anyways it stopped raining so we decided to take a taxi to the ropeway entrance. Once we got to the top it started raining again but still we were able to take a quick photo and dip after 5 to 10min.
Next day we went to visit Fukuoka, and on the first day I was able to link up with my high friend Hiroto aka farmer in Japan. Quick catch up with dinner and he recommended us some places to go. What was mad annoying is that Fukuoka is known for food but since I got gout it was so stressful. Everywhere I go I see cod rose or ramen or motsu nabe but I wasn't trying to feel the pain on my foot ever again especially when I'm traveling. Pretty much the whole time I was in Fukuoka I was craving and stressing.
Anyways see yall next week
